Welcome to our site over on this cozy corner of the internet. Take a seat by the fireplace and get comfortable as we take you on a journey of physics. Not to worry, you need not travel far. Like the strands that finely weave magic into this world, physics can be found all around us. You just need to know where to look.
We, off course, are the phyzards, a team of wizards studying the mystifying secrets physics has to offer to our world. Naturally, any wizard is equipped with its own set of spells, and we are no different. Where some employ the arcane lore of transmutation or meta-magic to suit their needs, we have decided to divine physics through the use of words. Truly a magical thing they are, able to enchant with mere symbols on a page.
It is our strong desire to induce a bit of magic into the world of physics, showing everyone that it need not be just numbers and headaches. It should be fun to explore the principles of nature, kind of like an epic adventure. In order to make things more enjoyable to read and write, we have adopted a few key principles.
Our key principles
First of all, we have adopted a theme of wizardry into our blog. Off course, we know that physics is nothing supernatural, but we believe that doesn’t mean you can’t introduce some magic into it. Besides making things more fun and unique, it helps give people a sense of wonder for how truly special the universe we live in is. Magic can also help the creative juices flowing when it comes to exploring this universe, which we find necessary in this world filled with stiff and serious scientists.
Secondly, we aim to provide our readers with a healthy balance of posts that are helpful and entertaining. We’ll create study-guides, analyse physics in popular media, review books about science, over-analyse everyday objects and just write about whatever’s on our mind really. It may not even be about physics if we find something interesting enough. You can rest assured that we will always write things we feel passionate about, so that every page will contain our magic touch.
Lastly, we will always aim to deliver quality content, though we will probably make some mistakes along the way. We may be wizards, but our magic can not safe us against the power of ignorance, so you will have to forgive us for being human. If you find anything that you don’t agree with, or worse, something that is just plain wrong, feel free to reach out! Let it be a lesson for us. Of course, we won’t go down without a fight, so expect us to research, read and interview our way through these topics so as to not misinform you 🙂
As for our general philosophy, we phyzards really just believe physics should be (fun) for everybody. Whoever we may be, the world should always keep surprising and delighting us, and looking at it through the lens of physics truly brings out its best side.
Final remarks
To close things off, we will go over our plans for the coming months. The educational year has just started again, and though we will be busy, we will try to dedicate ourselves to write about 2 posts every week, along with our monthly newsletter containing some of the physics-highlights for that month. We look forward to expanding our blog, and to all of you lovely readers finding enjoyment in it.
We have already gotten started, so check out our 7-ish tips for your first month studying (physics) or The NTC thermistor and absolute zero to see more of what we are about. That’s all for now. We wish you all the best, and give you our most magical regards.
